Gold Coast Ingredients (Commerce, CA) has announced that its new S.M.A.R.T. Center, located in Santa Fe Springs, CA, is now open. S.M.A.R.T stands for Sales, Marketing, Applications, Research, and Technology, all of which are positioned under one roof to maximize creative efforts, says the company.
The 52,715-sq-ft center sits on 2.87 acres and features more than 10 new laboratories focused on developing custom flavors and colors, extracts, flavor modifiers, and ingredient enhancers. In addition to the labs, the S.M.A.R.T. Center has a commercial-style kitchen and full laboratory dedicated to application development and testing, with the kitchen designed for developing hot products such as baked foods, confectionery, and sauces, and the laboratory set up for cold products such as beverages and ice cream. Gold Coast’s Applications Team will work hands-on with customers to develop finished products.
