Functional Gum: Calming, Antioxidants

Gumlink A/S will showcase two brand-new bi-layered compressed chewing gum concepts at Vitafoods 2011: one containing Lactium to target stress-related symptoms and one loaded with various antioxidants. The Lactium concept, named Zen&Free, was developed in cooperation with Ingredia Nutritional. By itself, chewing gum is well known for its stress-relieving effects, the company says. When coupled with the documented effects of Lactium, the end result is a chewing gum that can relieve stress-related symptoms, such as ones associated with smoking cessation and nicotine-replacement therapy. The antioxidant concept includes antioxidants such as those in vitamin C, vitamin E, selenium, blueberry extract, and cranberry extract.
