FrieslandCampina will be showcasing Biotis Fermentis, Plantaris, Excellion, and Biotis GOS-OP High Purity in shakes, bars, and gummies.
FrieslandCampina Ingredients (Amersfoort, the Netherlands) will be showcasing its protein and prebiotic solutions at Natural Products Expo West 2024 in a number of product concepts, including shakes and gummies. For example, the company’s Biotis Fermentis, which combines combines whey protein, galacto-oligosaccharides prebiotic, and probiotic cultures to support the gut-muscle-axis will be offered to attendees in a shake concept. Similarly, the company’s Plantaris pea and fava bean protein ingredienta will be showcased in ready-to-drink beverages, shakes, as well as bar concepts to demonstrate the ingredient’s clean taste across applications.
FrieslandCampina’s Excellion range of dried milk proteins will also be shown in bar concepts due to the growing need for on-the-go healthy snacks as more consumers skip meals like breakfast. These bars, says the company will have softer mouthfeel and extended shelf life. To help customers leverage the market opportunity for gummy supplements, FrieslandCampina will be offering attendees its “Good to Gut” prebiotic gummy concept containing its Biotis GOS-OP High Purity. This ingredient can deliver a higher concentration (around 94%) of available galacto-oligosaccharide (GOS) content compared to other prebiotics on the market, says FrieslandCampina.
“People are leading increasingly busy lives while also taking a more proactive approach to their health and well-being. This is driving demand for convenient on-the-go nutrition like shakes, bars and gummies. Even better if one product offers several health benefits at the same time,” says Auke Zeilstra, managing director for North America at FrieslandCampina Ingredients, in a press release.
“We want to show that it is possible to develop healthy products that still look and taste great, in fast-growing markets such as gut health and muscle support,” added Sophie Zillinger Molenaar, global marketing lead for Biotis at FrieslandCampina Ingredients. “This year, our concepts are better than ever, and we’re excited for visitors to explore the innovative applications our ingredients make possible – including the newest addition to our Biotis portfolio – watch this space for more information!”
FrieslandCampina will be at booth #4548 from March 13 to 16.
