Titled “Food Safety Modernization Act: Marking a New Era in U.S. Food Safety,” the paper summarizes the law and provides insights in four areas: preventive controls, inspections, compliance, and import monitoring.
It also discusses key platforms, including food-safety plans, performance standards, risk-based inspections, foreign supplier identification, laboratory accreditation, inspection of records, registration of food facilities, produce standards, and accreditation for third-party auditors.
