The companies have launched a new online resource for the growing trend.
Corn Products International and National Starch Food Innovation (Westchester, Il) are taking advantage of growing consumer interest in clean label products by launching Clean Label Insights, an online resource dedicated to clean label formulations.
While lacking a clear definition, clean label products usually emphasize natural, recognizable ingredients in place of food additives and other synthetic alternatives.
“We want to be at the forefront of the clean label trend-this initiative will enable us to present and share an in-depth understanding of consumer attitudes and strengthen our position as the industry authority and go-to-clean label partner,” said Aaron Edwards, global director of the Wholesome division of Corn Products/National Starch.
The website offers manufacturers and other interested parties with access to research, regulatory information, technical advances, and case studies relating to clean label products. The two companies have already conducted the first of several consumer research projects focusing on attitudes towards clean label foods and beverages.
