CoQ10 Supplier Acquires Equity in Dental Brand
Ingredient supplier BioActives (Worcester, MA) has acquired a major equity stake in oral-care brand Perfect Smile Corp. Perfect Smile uses BioActives’ MicroActive CoQ10 ingredient in its toothpaste and other oral-care products. CoQ10 is said to help fight gum disease.
Ingredient supplier BioActives (Worcester, MA) has acquired a major equity stake in oral-care brand Perfect Smile Corp. Perfect Smile uses BioActives’ MicroActive CoQ10 ingredient in its toothpaste and other oral-care products. CoQ10 is said to help fight gum disease.
With this partnership, BioActives is also looking to expand the use of its ingredients in the personal-care industry. “The strategic alliance will create an opportunity to better integrate our ingredients into consumer oral-care products and pave the way for other lines of retail personal-care and supplement products,” says BioActives managing partner Dan Kagan, PhD.
The Perfect Smile product line includes toothpaste, mouth rinse, and chewing gum, all containing CoQ10. BioActives says that its MicroActive CoQ10 is a patented CoQ10 formulation that is more bioavailable and suited for water-based products, such as toothpaste. MicroActive CoQ10 is marketed through Maypro Industries.
