The company has petitioned FDA for a qualified health claim for whole grains and certain food products containing whole grains.
ConAgra Foods Inc. (Omaha, NE) has petitioned FDA for a qualified health claim relating to whole grain consumption and a reduced risk of type 2 diabetes. The health claim would be available for whole grains and eligible food products containing whole grains. Among other requirements, ConAgra has proposed that products bearing the claim contain at least 12 grams of whole grains per RACC (Reference Amount Customarily Consumed).
