In a new human study, collagen reduces pain for joint sufferers of all ages.
Certified Nutraceuticals Inc. (Murrieta, CA) says that ongoing research on its branded collagen ingredient, kollaGen II-xs, is producing positive results.
In a human trial on 15 subjects ages 17 to 81 years, supplementation with the collagen powder improved flexibility by a mean 33% in just seven days. After 30 days of supplementation, subjects reported even better improvements in pain, flexibility, and range-of-motion pain. Subjects consumed the collagen ingredient with citrus juice daily.
The company says its avian sternum powder is made up of the same building blocks found in human joint cartilage. Contrary to some conventional collagen products, kollaGen II-xs is made without the use of ethanol or harsh chemicals.
