A new human study focuses on daily tocotrienol supplementation.
Researchers at Ohio State University are investigating the benefits of supplemental vitamin E on wound healing, according to natural vitamin E supplier Carotech Inc. (Edison, NJ).
Carotech Inc.'s palm tocotrienols, potent forms of vitamin E, are being administered in a randomized, placebo-controlled trial on 71 healthy adults as either a daily topical cream (Tocomin) or both daily Tocomin and a daily oral tocotrienol complex (Tocomin Suprabio). All subjects have been submitted to tissue punch biopsies (to induce wounds), and natural healing will be monitored throughout the study.
The research team conducting this study was also behind a previous study in which Tocomin supplementation improved scar appearance in adult subjects with surgical wounds.
