Canyon Labs opened a 17,000 square foot, full-service lab in Salt Lake City that offers testing, scientific and technical consulting, and Institutional Review Board (IRB) clinical services. The company can also be a full-service scientific partner, guiding companies through FDA requirements. The Canyon Labs team is led by two Johns Hopkins University faculty members – Haven McCall, DRSc, and David Locke, DRSc – who have a combined 40 years of experience in laboratory, clinical research, and regulatory background.
“We’re filling a need for numerous companies that dealt with non-responsive labs that lost samples, provided unacceptable customer service, and couldn’t meet all their needs from a one lab,” said Andy Kawamoto, Canyon Labs chief business development officer, in a press release. “Canyon Labs wasbuilt to remedy each of those issues, especially for companies in the supplement, nutrition, cosmetic, and pharma space. A comprehensive, one-stop laboratory fills a void in the health and wellness industries and will be a welcome solution.”
