For the Biome (Dummerson, VT) and Om Mushroom Superfood has formed a strategic alliance. For the Biome is the latest venture of Paul Schulick, who founded New Chapter, that focuses on botanical skin health. Om Mushroom Superfood makes certified organic functional mushroom superfood formulations. For the Biome’s flagship products Adapt Essence Spray, and Invigorate Powder Mask will feature a blend of reishi, lion’s mane, chaga, maitake, and king trumpet mushrooms sourced from Om Mushroom Superfood. For the Biome states that its own research has confirmed that mushrooms show potential benefits for cellular antioxidant protections, reduced free radical production, and mitochondrial membrane.
“Our dual-stage fermentation process is on the cutting edge of skincare formulations,” said Schulick in a press release. “It not only generates valuable nutrient-rich compounds but supercharges existing compounds to deliver mushroom topicals with unrivaled bioavailability and effectiveness. Applying fermented mushrooms directly to skin tissue provides incredible benefits - including the unmatched ability to improve appearance by countering hyperpigmentation, enhance the immune system, and protect against premature skin aging and wrinkle formation, as well as blue light radiation.”
This is the second partnership announced by the company this year. In March, For the Biome announced a partnership with astaxanthin supplier Algatech (Harrison, NY). The company's products are expected to launch in the summer of 2019.
