Beneo to Host Euro Conference on Prebiotic Fibers, Functional Carbs

By way of its Beneo-Institute for scientific and regulatory research, the Beneo Group will host a second European Scientific Symposium, specifically focusing on prebiotic fibers and functional carbohydrates. The event will be held during March 12-13 in Heidelberg, Germany at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory.
Beneo’s symposium will feature presentations from academic experts on emerging science and regulatory approaches to these food ingredient categories, including:
- Physiological importance of carbohydrates with a low glycemic response for the human body
- Options to reduce the glycemic properties of food
- The effects of the European legislation in light of EU Health Claim regulations
- New perspectives on what constitutes healthy human gut microbiota
- The role of prebiotic fibers in weight management and infant nutrition
HHS announces restructuring plans to consolidate divisions and downsize workforce
