Mike McKenna will take the place of Terry Hill as CEO of Barentz North America.
Barentz (Hoofddorp, Netherlands) has announced a change in leadership of its North American business in which Mike McKenna, previously president and COO of North America will become CEO of North America, while the previous CEO, Terry Hill, will join the company’s Supervisory Board. The appointments will be effective March 1, 2023.
McKenna joined Barentz from Maroon Group in 2004, held various leadership roles, and served as a member of the Barentz global management board. Since 2014, he has transacted and integrated over 20 acquisitions. Hill too joined Barentz from the Maroon Group, but in 2019 as CEO of North America and global management board member. During his tenure, Hill significantly expanded the business to key markets and geographies to establish a foundation of sustained long-term group, says Barentz.
“Mike’s appointment and this transition are part of a thoughtful plan that Terry and the board have been engaged in for the last couple of years.” said Hidde van der Wal, CEO of Barentz, in a press release. “We are confident Mike is the right person to fulfill this role. He is an inspiring and energetic leader who has shown an ability to build and motivate teams to deliver consistent growth.”
“On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Terry for his leadership and vision during the last several years,” added Juergen Steinemann, chairman of Barentz’ Supervisory Board. “We look forward to his continued contribution on the supervisory board as we support the organization in becoming the market leading global life science and ingredient distributor. Terry has a real passion for leadership development, strategy, and culture, which will be a great asset for our global team.”
