In response to exploding supply needs of plant-based food and beverage manufacturers throughout the world, Axiom Foods Inc. (Los Angeles, CA) has signed a domestic distribution agreement with Univar Solutions, as well as international distribution agreements with Univar Solutions Brazil, Brenntag Food and Nutrition, and Healy Group. The agreement with Brenntag expands distribution into Europe as well as the Middle East and Africa, while Healy Group leads expansion in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The agreement with Univar Solutions Brazil expands distribution into South America.
“The timing is right, as Axiom is uniquely prepared to support the increased pressure on manufacturers to supply large quantities of both nutrient-dense and functional plant-based meat and dairy alternatives,” said David Janow, founder and CEO of Axiom Foods, in a press release. “Our food technology, sourcing and production teams are expanding U.S. production, securing over a dozen patents, and launching seven highly-functional plant protein SKUs with more in the pipeline, while our quality team is earning new levels of certifications from FDA GRAS to Non-GMO Project Verified, and more clinical trials are supporting claims.”
The Axiom ingredients currently receiving the most interest from its current distribution partners include U.S.-made AvenOlait oat and OryzOlait rice dairy alternatives, suspension-grade Oryzatein SG-BN rice protein, Cucurbotein pumpkin seed protein, and both neutral tasting and texturized Vegotein pea proteins for meat alternatives.
