The Danish company says it can formulate great-tasting whey protein beverages.
Exhibiting at the upcoming Fi Europe tradeshow in Frankfurt in November, Arla Foods Ingredients (Viby J, Denmark) says it will showcase a new protein water beverage concept. The beverage is based on whey protein isolate, with a potential for additional vitamin and mineral fortification.
“Once the domain of hardcore sports and workout enthusiasts, dairy protein is now seen as a wholesome and nutritious ingredient sought out by mainstream consumers-something the success of Greek yogurt has testified to,” says Peter Schouw, business development manager for health and performance at Arla Foods. “Our protein water concept has been created to show soft drink companies how they can tap into this market and reap the rewards.”
The company says it can formulate single-serving protein water with 25% of the recommended daily allowance (RDA) for protein, thereby enabling a nutrition claim on product labels. Fi Europe attendees can visit Arla Foods Ingredients at stand 8C01.
