Arjuna launches range of certified organic turmeric extracts

Arjuna Natural Pvt Ltd. (Kerala, India) has introduced a range of certified organic turmeric extracts, including its BCM-95 (Curcugreen), and its water-dispersible, oil-dispersible, and customizable turmeric extracts. The organic certification was granted by India’s National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP) and U.S. National Organic Program (NOP), as well as the organic standard equivalent with EC834/2007 & 889/2008 for EU certification. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and The European Union (EU) Regulation on Organic Production recognize NPOP as meeting the strict standards of the U.S. NOP and European Union regulations 2092/91.

“The new organic certifications in Europe, U.S., and India help maintain BCM-95’s leading position globally, but also establishes Arjuna as a trusted source for organic turmeric extracts,” said Chase Johnston, director of the Dallas, TX-based U.S. operations for Arjuna Natural, in a press release. “Now more than ever, consumers are educating themselves on natural products before purchasing. Arjuna is committed to transparent, sustainable & organic practices that align with consumer values.”

“We work in India in collaboration with Kerala Agricultural University, Thrissur, to identify the best sustainable farming procedures and the right turmeric variety,” said Benny Anthony, Ph.D., joint managing director for Arjuna, in a press release. “The organic turmeric is grown and cultivated on local, organic-certified farms. Moreover, the organic nature of the product is cross-verified through both an independent certifying agency as well as via appropriate chemical analysis.”

Organic BCM-95 is versatile and the range of extracts can be incorporated into softgels, tablets, and foods and beverages.
