Anlit (Tel Aviv, Israel), a private-label manufacturer of delivery systems for probiotics and dietary supplements, launched three new immune-based products using its VitaBite chewable format. These include LLP Immune Probiotic, Zinc, and Elderberry (Sambucus) bites.
“Much of our efforts at Anlit are dedicated to bringing more appeal to the daily supplement routine for kids, adults, seniors, and other pill-fatigued consumers,” said David Gabbay, VP of marketing at Anlit, in a press release. “We also strive to encourage the intake of concentrated doses of essential nutrients by children. These new products come in a variety of flavors to address these different consumers’ preferences.”
The probiotic bites have two patented active probiotic strains, Bifidobacterium lactis (Bl-04) and Lactobacillus acidophilus (La-14)-which both have research on respiratory function-as well chicory inulin for digestive support and options to include vitamin C and D, and zinc. They also utilize the company’s Long Life Probiotics (LLP) technology to ensure the live bacteria remain stable in an edible chewable matrix under ambient conditions for up to 24 months. Additionally, LLP protects the active probiotic bacteria from the harsh conditions of the stomach without hindering colonization. The Zinc bites include 23 mg of zinc citrates with elderberry in a blister pack. The Sambucus bites have 50 mg of elderberry and 10 mg of zinc, with additional options to include vitamins C and D.
“Our formulation is based on clinical trials conducted on probiotic strains developed at Danisco lab and are the precise strains we incorporated into our products,” Gabbay noted. “These strains have demonstrated abilities to delay the onset of respiratory tract illnesses compared to placebo and support the immune system. In fact, Bl-04 is the strain most endorsed by doctors for promoting respiratory health, according to a 2018 ProVoice Survey of 250 board-certified primary care physicians.”
Vitabites are manufactured using 100 percent natural ingredients and are non-GMO, gluten-free, and certified Kosher and Halal. Flavors include chocolate, vanilla, or fruit.
