Sennosides are used as laxatives in traditional and modern medicine.
Alchem International Ltd. (Minnetonka, MN), an India-based herbal extracts manufacturer, has expanded its facility in Neemrana, India, which is dedicated to the production of its ingredient 60% Sennosides USP. As the company explains, sennosides, which are extracted from senna leaves and pods, are used as laxatives in traditional and modern medicine.
“Expansion of our facility was necessary to answer the growing demand for 60% USP Sennosides,” states company president Raman Mehta. He says the expanded facility can now handle more than 75 metric tons yearly.
The company says its facility’s state-of-the-art laboratory tests according to USP monographs.
