An unnamed Chinese manufacturer of dietary supplements has interest in selling krill oil through several market channels.
Krill oil ingredient supplier Aker BioMarine (Oslo, Norway) has landed its first distribution deal in China, inking a five-year contract with a Chinese manufacturer of dietary supplements.
During the course of the deal, Aker BioMarine will be the exclusive suppler of krill ingredients to the Chinese company, which plans to launch Aker BioMarine’s Superba krill oil in several market channels. The Chinese company has met a minimum purchase agreement of 230 tons.
“This is a breakthrough for us in Asia, and particularly in China. We now get a strong partner with local presence and knowledge, broad reach, and resources to build the Superba Krill market in China,” said Matts Johansen, Executive Vice President, Aker BioMarine.
