The pioneer of the world's first vegetarian softgel offers new and improved formats.
Aenova (Pähl, Germany), the developer of the world’s first vegetarian softgel, is introducing two new softgel materials for vegetarian and vegan consumers. Both materials are free of gelatin and other animal products.
VeganGel and EnteriGel are sourced from renewable plant-based polysaccharide materials, and the developer says that both of these lines support formulas that are usually challenged by the use of gelatin softgels, including ingredients that can react negatively in the presence of gelatin. Because these films tolerate high heat, the softgel materials can be filled at higher temperatures than conventional softgels. EnteriGel has extra benefit in that it has “inherent gastric-resistance properties,” which address issues of acid reflux and aftertaste-two problems that can compromise fish oil capsules. This softgel is also best for delayed-release properties, says Aenova.
Aenova’s new softgels are clear in color and available in several shapes, sizes, and colors.
