American Lecithin Company (ALC; Oxford, CT) is rolling out new sunflower-derived phospholipids and lecithins, including phosphatidylserine, glycerophosphocholine, and phosphatidylcholine. They will be available under the Alcolec brand of natural emulsifiers.
“With this launch, American Lecithin becomes the only company that offers both sunflower-derived phosphatidylserine (PS) and sunflower-derived glycerophosphocholine (GPC),” said Randy Zigmont, president of ALC. “We anticipate a high level of interest as they are both hypo-allergenic and GMO-free. These are label-friendly options that more and more consumers are looking for, and manufacturers need solutions to meet that demand.”
The new line of sunflower-derived ingredients join ALC’s range of lecithins and phosopholipids derived from egg, soy, sunflower, and canola, which can be found in nutritional supplements for liver protection, anti-aging, and cardiovascular support.
