Probiotic meets prebiotic in the new strategic alliance announced earlier this month between Ganeden Biotech (Cleveland, OH) and Sensus America (Lawrenceville, NJ).
The two companies have come together to form Fructalose PRO, “a liquid prebiotic, chicory root fiber syrup blended with the highly stable probiotic, Ganeden BC30 (Bacillus coagulans GBI-30, 6086),” according to a press release from Ganeden. The combination of Fructalose SF75, the chicory root-based liquid inulin fiber from Sensus, with the probiotic Ganeden BC30 is designed to provide a multitude of health benefits for food and beverage applications.
“This highly stable ingredient combination is a low calorie and low sugar, clinically-proven symbiotic, designed to maximize health benefits to the consumer; particularly in the areas of protein utilization and digestive health,” reads a Ganeden press release.
Andrew Lefkowitz, president of Ganeden, says the partnership will allow for a broadening of the food and beverage applications of applications of Ganeden BC30.
“We are excited to partner with an innovative probiotic company that shares a vision of improving quality of life through healthy ingredient fortifications,” says Carl Volz, president, Sensus America. “By integrating our unique strengths, we will accelerate our business and growth opportunities by capitalizing on the unique opportunities and synergies that these innovative ingredients provide.”
The alliance is focused on bringing new innovations to North American food and beverages, says Ganeden.
