AstaReal Technologies, Inc. (Burlington, NJ) announced today that its AstaReal L10 astaxanthin ingredient is now certified under the Non-GMO Project Verified program by NSF International (Ann Arbor, MI). This marks the first time an astaxanthin ingredient has received non-GMO status from NSF, says AstaReal.
“This is very exciting, not just for us as a supplier, but also for our customers,” says Joe Kuncewitch, national sales manager, AstaReal. “At AstaReal we are constantly working to deliver the best natural astaxanthin product to the consumer. What we’ve demonstrated here with this non-GMO verification is our commitment to that promise.”
AstaReal L10 (10% oil) is created from microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis and produced in Moses Lake, Washington.
In response to the news, Charles DePrince, President and CEO of AstaReal, says in a press release: “As a company, we will continue to dedicate resources to programs like this to further attest our dedication to supply the highest quality, natural astaxanthin to the world.”
In addition to offering non-GMO verification services, NSF International recently launched its new NSF Non-GMO True North certification program.
