Evolva (Reinach, Switzerland), a company specializing in fermentation-derived ingredients like stevia, nootkatone, and resveratrol, recently announced that it is branding its resveratrol ingredients under the trade name Veri-te. The company says it would like to differentiate Veri-te resveratrol from other resveratrol ingredients on the market, claiming that Veri-te is purer and sustainably produced.
“Not all resveratrol is created equal,” said Angela Tsetsis, Evolva’s senior vice president of health and wellness, in a press release.
According to the company, “Veri-te resveratrol marks a major step forward for the category, which has been dominated by resveratrol derived from Chinese extracts of a highly invasive and environmentally destructive weed. The closed-system fermentation process of Veri-te avoids the possibility of environmental contaminants sometimes seen in these extracts and provides the desired consistency and purity through a natural process.”
The company is also encouraging marketers to co-brand their products to highlight the fact that the Veri-te ingredient being used is a high-purity, sustainably produced resveratrol.
Veri-te is off-white in color, odorless, and tasteless. It can be used in everything from supplements (capsules, tablets, and chews), as well as cosmetics and wellness drinks.
