CRN To Host New Regulatory Conference in May
The new, one-day conference will take place in Bethesda, MD on May 5.

The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN; Washington, DC) will be hosting a new, one-day conference this May.
Titled “The Regulatory Summit,” the new event will feature interactive sessions to “help attendees formulate clear direction and options for addressing current regulatory compliance matters confronting dietary supplements and functional foods,” according to the announcement from CRN. It will take place on May 5 at the Hyatt Regency in Bethesda, MD.
Session leaders will include regulatory experts from consulting firms, companies, law firms, and quality control laboratories. FDA regulatory officials from different units of the agency will also be in attendance as both presenters and observers, which CRN says will allow for a dialogue between the supplements industry and the government authority charged with regulating it.
“We anticipate this conference will have broad appeal for regulatory professionals in the dietary supplement and functional food industry, including senior executives, regulatory/quality managers, and technical scientists,” said Duffy MacKay, ND, CRN’s senior vice president of scientific and regulatory affairs. “We’ll cover topics of interest in regulatory affairs, as well as quality control/quality assurance.”
MacKay also encourages companies to send more than one person because the conference will include team-building opportunities around creating strategies to prevent, address, and correct potential regulatory problems.
Soon after the Regulatory Summit, CRN is co-hosting the fourth-annual Legal, Regulatory and Compliance Forum on June 27–29, in conjunction with the American Conference Institute (ACI). The Forum will take place in New York City and will focus on current legal and compliance issues impacting the industry.
