CRN celebrates its 50th anniversary at October “Science in Session” and “Now New Next” events

The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN; Washington, DC), now celebrating its 50th anniversary, began unveiling the lineup of speakers for the association’s “Now New Next” and “Science in Session” conferences, which will take place October 3-6, 2023, at the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel, in Dana Point, CA. The association is currently offering special pricing for early-bird registration through August 4, 2023.

The annual business conference “Now New Next” will take place on October 4-6, with an opening reception to be held on the evening of October 3. “The event will feature keynote speakers offering unique perspectives connecting society, technology, and wellness,” CRN’s press release states. Keynote speakers include:

  • Vin Gupta, MD, MPA, NBC News medical analyst and chief medical officer for Amazon Pharmacy, will speak about “key connections in current and future healthcare trends and their business impacts—and how industry can adapt and thrive,” CRN’s press release states.
  • Sammy Ramsey, PhD, founder and director of the Ramsey Research Foundation, will share “his process for using unconventional thinking to overcome roadblocks with a unique approach anyone can use to creatively tackle complex problems and arrive at innovative solutions…”
  • Tiffani Bova, the Wall Street Journal bestselling author of The Experience Mindset: Changing the Way You Think About Growth, as well as a “global growth evangelist” for Salesforce, “will walk attendees through the real and seemingly causal link between employee experience and customer experience to orchestrate a great workforce and unlock growth where the customer and employee experiences converge.”
  • Award-winning political journalist and White House correspondent John Harwood will discuss “how fundamental changes in economic opportunity are coinciding with accelerating shifts in the nation’s demography and culture.”
  • Paul Zikopoulos, vice president of technology, group skills, vitality, and enablement at IBM, will advise how companies can leverage AI, big data, and machine learning.

Meanwhile, at “Science in Session,” taking place on October 3, the theme will be “The Evolution of Science on Dietary Supplements: Past, Present, and Future.” Speakers include:

  • Regan Bailey, PhD, RD, associate director of the Precision Nutrition Institute for Advancing Health Through Agriculture at Texas A&M University
  • Jeffrey Blumberg, PhD, FASN, FACN, CNS-S, research professor at the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University
  • Paul Coates, PhD, former director of the Office of Dietary Supplements at the National Institutes of Health and adjunct professor at the School of Public Health at Indiana University Bloomington
