Alyssa Ghirardelli, MPH, RD, Principal Research Scientist in NORC’s Health Care Programs Department, has over 25 years of experience in public health research. Her work focuses on behavior change through population health, communication, and social marketing research. Ghirardelli has experience with formative research including segmentation, message development and concept testing, focus groups, key informant interviews and qualitative methodologies. She is also a registered dietitian.

Marie leads the IAFNS Board Program Committee, IAFNS Scientific Leadership Council, and several Nutrition Committees – including the Cognitive Health Committee. Her responsibilities include strategy development and scientific project management with diverse membership across government, industry, and academia. Under her leadership, IAFNS has supported 20 publications per year for the last three years. Over the course of her career, Marie has held a variety of positions within science-based organizations, in the US and in Europe. Additionally, she served as Study Director at the National Academies of Sciences Food and Nutrition Board.
